The 2002 horror movie 28 Days Later received its first follow-up, 28 Weeks Later, in 2007. Every bad thing that happened in 28 Weeks Later was caused by the American characters' incompetence and/or apathy. Don may have been the more immediate, in-your-face threat, but I couldn't help but think that Danny Boyle wanted the movie to be an allegory for how the American military screws things up all around the world, or something like that. 28 Weeks Later was released in 2007.
